Chiropractic is a Primary Health-care therapy that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and overall management of conditions that are due to problems of the joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves of the body, especially those of the spine. Chiropractic treatments are holistic in that they strengthen and balance the nervous system and promote healthy body function.

People of all ages can benefit from chiropractic traetment, which consists of a wide range of manipulation techniques designed to improve the function of the joints so relieving pain or spasms. These are designed to work on individual joints without disturbing another.

The Chiropractor may also offer advice on changes to lifestyle, exercise, stretching movements, work and managing your condition to help prevent a recurrence.

What Happens During A Consultation?

The first session lasts about an hour. The Chiropractor will take a detailed history and give you a thorough examination. Subsequent visits for treatment are about 15minutes. The number of visits depends on the severity of your problem and your response to treatment.

We have a very strong commitment to patient aftercare. With this in mind, after your course of treatment, you will be given an appointment for six weeks time for a check-up and 'tweeking' if required. The receptionist will then make an appointment for six months time for another precautionary check to sort out problems before they get chance to become serious again. (Rather like the six month check given by dentists).
