Meditation is one of the best methods to relax both mind and body. It is a way of releasing all the bodily tension of modern life, and frees the mind from its preoccupation with trivia and everyday clutter. The mind becomes unfettered from worries and allows you to find the true self, by finding new perspectives. Meditation is holistic - it has a profound effect on the mind and body, which you carry with you at all, times. It is possible to meditate on a packed commuter train and arrive fresh and relaxed whilst those around you are 'hot and bothered' before they start work! Meditation allows you to turn your attention inwards and become tuned to your innermost thoughts and emotions. The mind is like a waterfall of thoughts, chaotically cascading around our minds. Meditation can still this turmoil and allow clarity of thought. This allows you to have a much greater control over your own personality and quality of life. You may find skills and talents long buried or never discovered before as your ability to concentrate increases and creativity is enhanced. You will trust your own judgements and not worry about the approval of others, as you gain in confidence. People who meditate suffer very little day-to-day stress, so are mentally and physically healthier as a result.

What happens at a consultation?
You cannot rush into meditation. It is something that requires time and effort. You will be given a detailed induction on the different types of meditation especially the technique I use which is very easy to master. Meditation is best practiced lying down or sitting in an upright supported position, (depending on whether you want to get involved in chakras or not), so you need to be wearing loose comfortable clothing. Meditation mat and cushions are provided, or bring your own. Each person is different and the way forward has to be tailored to that individual to maximise results. I prefer to work on a one-to-one basis as this means a person has my total attention, but I will work with couples or small groups. You may require several sessions and practice in-between those sessions to master the techniques properly. After that it depends on how you wish to proceed.
