CELLULITE REDUCTION PROGRAMME
CELLULITE REDUCTION MASSAGE
Please note you can have just the Massages, you do not have to buy the whole programme
These programmes are designed to rid you of unsightly cellulite - the ugly 'orange-peel' skin that is so embarassing as it wobbles round your thighs and buttocks. The question "Does my bum look big in this?" could be a thing of the past for you. Dig out the bikini this summer, gone is that sarong, (which didn't hide anything and everyone knew why you were wearing it), have a new firmer and smoother figure.
The programmes are divided into five elements, each of which enhance the effects of the others. The first two elements are based round massage work at the centre; Cellulite Reduction Massages and Lymphatic Drainage Massages. The the third and fourth elements are; an Anti-Cellulite Nutrition Plan and a Personalised Exercise Programme. The final element is a Maintenence Programme.
How it all Works
It is always best to take advantage of the FREE 20 minute assessment and consultation before purchasing a plan. This allows Dr. Wain to advise you on your individual treatment and work out your Nutrition and Exercise Plans for your first full visit. During this visit your blood pressure will be taken and your heart listened to. You may be advised to have a cholesterol test, (you can buy your own home test kit or we can do it for you), and a food intollerance test. You will be amazed at how many people have intollerances that make them retain fluids or fat - both of which make cellulite look even worse. You do not have to have either of these tests but they are very helpful in working out your Nutrition Plan - it may contain items which will slow down your reduction in weight and cellulite!! With the information from the tests the best posible programme can be drawn up for you.
It is fairly obvious that someone with just a little cellulite should need less sessions than someone with more, and their Nutrition and Exercise Plans will also vary. However, all people are different and some people with small amounts of cellulite may need more sessions that expected.
The Cellulite Reduction Massage breaks down and mobilises cellulite, loosens the skin and reduces the 'dimples'. The Lymphatic Drainage massage carries away released fluids and toxins, including fats - this alone helps you lose some weight. The Anti-Cellulite Nutrition Plan follows methods which are healthy and known to reduce levels of fat quickly and effectively. This is greatly enhanced by an Exercise Programme which is designed to burn calories, increase metabolism and seriously tone up the muscles which in turn help give you a more sculptured appearance.
What is Cellulite
Cellulite is the expression used to describe pockets of fat which are trapped and cause dimpling in the skin. This dimpling is irregular and patchy and has been identified with orange peel. 90% of post-adolescent women go on to develop cellulite at some time during their life although it is very hardly ever seen in men. The thighs, buttocks and the abdomen are the most common areas for a woman to develop cellulite. Although it is often mistaken for obesity, cellulite is not actually obesity related because it can also take place in thin lean women.
Underneath the dermis and epidermis are three specific layers of fat. Cellulite tends to develop in the
subcutaneous fat layers. This layer of fat is unique in its structure compared to the other layers because its fatty parts are structured into specific chambers by strands of linked tissue around it.
Hormones also help out with the storage of fat along with the body's metabolism in the subcutaneous fat layer. Hormonal factors such as estrogen and folliculine also play a role in cellulite formation. Cellulite is for the most part found in women during their hormonal changes such as puberty, pregnancy, and menopause and also whilst taking birth control pills. There is a great deal of evidence that ‘The Pill’ helps in the production of cellulite. A woman's hormones are usually responsible for the regulation of their blood flow, fat, connective tissue and lymphatic drainage.
The fat cells between the two reserve fat layers situated under the subcutaneous fat layer dissolve into a slack network. A person's genetic makeup predicts their fat storage and metabolism in these layers which are predisposed by diet, exercise and lifestyle. These layers have no responsibility for cellulite forming on a person's body. The subcutaneous fat layer in a woman is organised into large upright chambers allowing fat to be stored. In men, these chambers are organised into small slanting units. These store smaller fat quantities and are not likely to form cellulite.
Cellulite's formation is a result of complex physiological changes that occur in the subcutaneous fat layer. Regular exercise and well balanced diets do not always reverse or prevent its formation, (on their own), although an unhealthy lifestyle will make the overall appearance worse over time due to poor nutrition, weight gain and lack of sufficient water intake. In other words not eating and exercising properly help increase cellulite production.
With age there is a loss in the thickness and tone of the connective tissue in the superficial fat layer and the dermis. Unfortunately noticeable, flaccid cellulite is the result. The SPECIAL CELLULITE REDUCTION MASSAGE helps to reduce these effects.
The Cellulite Reduction Massage
The massage is specially designed to break down the stiffened areas between the cellulite filled upright chambers and release fat from them to be used for energy or flushed away by the body. This has the effect of loosening the skin and allows it to return to a more normal smooth appearance.
The results are noticeable after the first massage but one is far from being sufficient to have a significant effect. Three sessions just before you went on holiday would reduce some of the dimpled effect of 'orange peel skin' for being on the beach for some people. Six sessions would be better and 12 should give a huge and long lasting effect.
What to Expect During the Massage
Most of the massage is manual and quite forceful in nature, but not painful. It has to be so to breakdown the thickened tissue. (A massage roller may be used on some areas to aid the process).
As cellulite is predominantly deposited on the thighs, hips and buttocks these are the areas worked on the most. Dr. Richard Wain will preserve your modesty at all times by the use of towels and you will be expected to keep your underwear on at all times. (No massage will be given without underwear being worn). However, you need to understand that your buttocks will be massaged unless you specifically ask for them to not be.
The Lymphatic Drainage Massage
The Lymphatic Drainage Massage is performed straight after an Anti-Cellulite Massage and is to flush the released fluids and fats away. It has a far greater effect that just the single massage. This is a very gentle massage and is sublimely relaxing after the vigorous Anti-Cellulite one. (Please visit the page on Lymphatic Drainage Massage to find out more about this incredible therapy).
The Nutritional and Execise Elements
These are an integral and important part of the whole programme. They increase the effects of the massage work incredibly. They are designed for each individual and will be reviewed and modified as you progress along the programme.
The Nutritional Plan may mean that some people will have to make dramatic changes to their eating habits which some will find daunting. If you cheat on the plan you are cheating on yourself and will not achieve the results you desire.
The Exercise Programme is based on your initial fitness and becomes progressively more demanding over time as your fitness improves. You will not need to buy any special equipment or join a gym, (however many people do). The basis of the exercise is to burn fat and greatly increase the tone of the muscles. It is not designed to increase muscle size but if you wish to do this it will be advantagous as larger muscles use more fat for fuel - so you get rid of cellulite more effectively.
The Cellulite Reduction Programmes are based on natural processes. The effectiveness of the massages and your adherance to the Nutrition and Exercise Plans cannot be guaranteed and as such affects everyone differently. No claim is made that they will help all persons achieve the desired results.
